After some personal family issues lately I’m happy to announce that my reboot of The Drewton Legacy is named FRACTURES and is back on track, for a premiere date of May 19! It’s been two years in the works and things have changed drastically since I first announced a reboot. I’m really excited with how things are turning out. The story is very fresh and the images have gotten at least 10x better. Commencement will be in five parts posted every two weeks and in addition will be presented in movie format and uploaded to YouTube. Trying to make it as cinematic as possible!

I’ve started a new account on YouTube with the username of “DrewtonTube” and have started uploading with a sneak peek for The Drewton Legacy: Siege. Most shots have been already posted here, as it’s mainly to make the photonovel known on YouTube, but a few are new.

In serious news, here are some actual details for The Drewton Legacy: Siege. Spoiler warning, mainly for those who did not read the original chapters.

• Dular is already a Jedi Knight.
• Kaleesh General Grievous has found an abadoned Trade Federation battleship, containing battle droids and droid fighters.
• There is a Jedi outpost on Dantooine which Idnum-Ki, Dular, and the Khoonda/Dantooine militia seek refuge in.
• 3D models are being used to show extremely wide-scale battle shots.
• A completely new 3D model is being used for shots of Dantooine in space, made to look like the original from the 2003 game KotOR but now being able to have HD renderings taken of it. It was done in a similar way to planet models/textures I worked on in August, of Manaan and Manaan’s moon.
• The battle of Dantooine, which is one of the focuses for improvements over in Kaleesh Siege, Dark Visions of the Sith, and Armageddon, will be in many parts – at least three major ones.
• Mandalorians will be involved in the battle.
• Dular’s last name is “Sundie”.
• Qymaen jai Sheelal is now known as “Grievous”.
• Video versions on YouTube are no longer planned.
• Flashbacks are shown of the Jedi vs. Kaleesh conflict on Kalee that Grievous spoke of in the original Siege of Dantooine chapters.

New details on The Drewton Legacy: Siege, including character, old and new, information!

• Idnum-Ki: A wise Jedi Master, who once was tempted by the dark side. He has now realized his foolishness and is perfectly light side, being considered for a seat on the Council.
• Dular Sundie: Idnum-Ki’s apprentice. He is the most powerful Jedi ever. He has a rivalry with Anakin Skywalker himself. He can take out armies on battle droids. Soon, he is planning on starting his own Jedi Order.
• Raymus and Tarisian Drewton: I have now decided to make Raymus and Selus Tarnn back to who they originally were: the young, ten/eleven year old brothers. Their age really made them unique, and made them stand out. They will be about this age for most of the series this time – no sudden switch to being adults anymore!
• Alran Kavis: He is a new character and a Nikto. He has awesome hand-to-hand-combat, the kind that can only be taught by the Mandalorians. He is in search of one ring that supposedly has great power and he calls his “precious”. A little similar to Lord of the Rings, I know, but I think I’ve made it different enough.

Lastly, some MAJOR spoilers: Grievous and the Kaleesh have made an alliance with the Yuuzhan Vong, and AHSOKA TANO may appear in the last episode of the story-arc.

Time for a new Drewton Legacy preview…featuring a new character on Dantooine, a Nikto named Alran Kavis in a militia under Selus Tarnn, the new Tarisian Drewton.

This week I’ve gotten a lot of progress done on dioramas, something I didn’t really have for the original Siege of Dantooine chapters…actually, I think I only had one, and it was old, from 2006, and not good. The plan is to have Siege done either later this month or in April, and post the three episodes weekly. I’ll also be able to get a three-week head start on the next “trilogy” this way.

One of the things I really noticed afterwards in the old chapters is that I didn’t show much of the actual battle. I showed Jedi Padawan Dular fighting some droids, Idnum-Ki dueling Grievous, and Raymus Drewton hijacking a tank, but there was really no sign from the pictures that the battle was anything close to wide scale. That’s going to change in the reboot.

Happy New Year everyone! Assuming everything goes as planned, 2010 will be the year for The Sith Lords Massive Improvement Mod‘s release and a big year for The Drewton Legacy. The title of the first story-arc, comprising of three episodes and scheduled for the release early this year, is Siege.

Again, Siege is being treated as one production, so I will be working on all three chapters are once. I am writing the first draft of the script in script format with Celtx (great program) and currently have nineteen pages done, while at the same time working on the dioramas (not just printed-out backgrounds this time). This is the first time that I have fully scripted an entire chapter(s), rather than shooting and adding the dialogue later.
